Daily routine

A day at canicas kindergarten

Here is what a typical day with us looks like — with familiar rituals and little Spanish greetings.

  1. 8:00 am
  2. ¡Buenos días! Good morning! The kindergarten opens its doors.
  3. 9:00–9:30 am
  4. Breakfast together.
  5. 10:00 am
  6. We greet each other in the morning circle and talk about the day. Then group activities begin: themed projects, music, outings and preschool work.
  7. 12:30–1:15 pm
  8. ¡Buen provecho! Enjoy your meal! Lunch together.
  9. 1:30–3:00 pm
  10. Rest time, free play, group and preschool work, projects or a playground visit.
  11. 3:00–3:25 pm
  12. Story time – we place great value on children's literature.
  13. 3:30–4:00 pm
  14. Afternoon snack together.
  15. 4:00–5:00 pm
  16. Free play and pick-up time – ¡Hasta mañana! See you tomorrow! The kindergarten closes (Fridays at 4:30 pm).

Rooms

Four bright rooms

In our four bright rooms the children have plenty of space to play, learn and feel at home.

Project

Our garden project

Directly across the street, the children tend their own beds: they sow, water and harvest herbs and berries – and watch how something big grows from tiny seeds.

Bathroom & cloakroom

Little places of their own

Even in the small things, every child has their place – their own toothbrush cup and their own named cubby.

Bathroom

Child-height sinks – and a toothbrush cup of their own for every child.

A named cubby of their own for shoes, jacket and spare clothes.
